Every year the answer is the same for the class of product I build most often: bilingual editorial CMS, booking platforms, admin-first internal tools, integrations-heavy platforms with three-to-six engineers. Laravel wins.

The scorecard

Model layer. Eloquent is opinionated in ways that let a small team ship without over-engineering the ORM. Translatable fields via Spatie, media on any model via Spatie MediaLibrary, activity logs, permissions — all first-class, all interoperating.
\n
Admin surface. Blade + Livewire (or Alpine) let you ship an admin panel that is fast to build, fast in the browser, and stays in the same codebase and mental model as the public surface. No admin-panel-as-a-second-product tax.
\n
Integrations. The community has a package for anything that ships in the region — payment gateways, carriers, notifications. When you outgrow one, it is a Laravel package with a testable interface, not a black-box binary.

Where Laravel is not the right pick

A product that lives or dies by real-time interactivity — collaborative editors, live-multiplayer surfaces — is not a Laravel product. A product whose primary value is a heavy WebSocket surface should be evaluated against the JS ecosystem on its own terms. Reach for the right tool, not the familiar one.
"}
