MENA venture had a discoverability problem, not a capital problem. Angels, family offices, and early-stage funds sat on capital they wanted to deploy regionally; founders in Riyadh, Cairo, and Amman had ideas that never surfaced in front of the right cheque.
The matchmaking happened in WhatsApp groups, DMs, and demo days that only a small circle attended. Every deck sent by a founder in month one was a coin flip on whether an investor ever saw it. Investors, in turn, spent hours filtering unqualified inbound.
The brief was to build the neutral, bilingual, MENA-native place where a serious founder posts a project and a serious investor finds it — with enough structure that neither side wastes their time.
